Mercedes FUMC Lunch Programs in Mexico

There are two important ministries in Nuevo Progreso, Mexico that are in need of your support.

We have two separate lunch programs:  feeding (1) children and (2) the elderly. 

• Each school day, 50 to 100 children attend the El Buen Pastor Church lunch program. 

• The adult lunch program is held on the South side of Nuevo Progresso in a lunch room built by a team and it serves between 25 and 45 elderly.

  • They must close when school is out as the grandmothers bring their children and the little room can't handle the crowd even serving in shifts. 

  

The  FUMC-Mercedes purchases and delivers most of the food items needed
with FUMC-Weslaco providing meat once a month.
